The

Fighting Cocks

Southampton Rd, Godshill, Fordingbridge SP6 2LL

Telephone: 01425 652462 Tim & Kay Eyre and staff welcome drinkers and diners to a traditional Forest pub where 'home made' means made on the premises. Tim, the landlord, originally trained as a master butcher and now uses these skills in the kitchen.  He personally cuts all our steaks and makes all our 1/2lb steak-burgers and sausages on the premises. We only use local New Forest venison, pheasant, rabbit, etc., in our seasonal game dishes which are prepared by the landlord and his team of chefs. Across the road is a shallow depression which is the original "cock pit" from which the pub takes its name. The Fighting Cocks was built in approximately 1927 alongside the old thatched building which was demolished to make way for the new road. The pub is ideally located for walkers, cyclists and horse riders on a day out in the New Forest, or for those who want a leisurely drink or meal while enjoying the view across the heathland.
